About the TBDGA
Established in 1927, the Thunder Bay District Golf Association (TBDGA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to growing the game of golf in the Thunder Bay District. To achieve this initiative, the TBDGA:
- Carries on a series of tournaments giving golfers of all skill levels the ability to compete.
- Hosts qualifying events for entry into various provincial championships.
- Financially supports our provincial championship qualifiers.
- Supports a variety of junior golf programs, such as clinics and competitions.
- Acts as a liaison between member clubs and Golf Ontario and Golf Canada.
- Promotes the rules of golf as adopted by Golf Canada.
- Oversees the regulation of the World Handicap System and course ratings.
- Promotes and preserves the history of golf in the Thunder Bay District.
The TBDGA is supported by and works actively with Golf Ontario, Golf Manitoba, and Golf Canada to administer the game of golf within our jurisdiction. Currently, the TBDGA oversees and works with twelve member clubs. To learn more about our member clubs, please visit our Course Directory.
